Hosting is where we place all the files and folders that go into making up your website. This is often referred to as Domain Server where we point your domain name so that anyone entering your domain name into the browser address bar will find your website.
WE DO NOT give access to clients to our hosting area as there are sensitive programs running on the server. It is a security risk which we will not compromise.
Many people get this confused with Hosting. This is very separate to hosting and has its own function. A Domain Name is the name of your Website URL or Address on the World Wide Web. It is the item that we point the nameservers to so that when people type your domain directly into the Address Bar of a browser, they instantly get taken to where your website is being hosted.
Domain Name Registration is created through a Domain Registrar, either through one we provide or one that you have already created a domain name through. We often prefer to manage client domains so that we can make changes to the configs that we sometimes need to make in order to give various access from server to registrar.
SSL is the abbreviation for Secure Sockets Layer. This is now a requirement by Google to have installed on a server to prove that it is a trusted site and can be safely viewed and navigated.
There are two types of SSL, Paid and Free. We have found the most secure and reliable Certificate to be a Paid Version. More importantly, the certificate must be digitally signed by a trusted CA. We use the worlds most Trusted CA.
You don’t necessarily have to have an SSL Certificate, but your site will be penalised and when users go to your website, they will get a warning notice via the browser that the site is not deemed secure and continue at their own risk, which often will turn users away from going any further into your website.
We design websites from the ground up! In most cases, we use WordPress as our Go To Website Manager and editor. We build the framework for your site, and install it to the server. The contenting of the site is performed by you, the client. We train you on how to create and edit pages and content. Alternatively, you can pay us to maintain and manage your site as your business progresses.
In some cases, namely our Small Business or Start Up Package, we will use a commercial theme for the framework, and modify it to suit our client needs and design. This helps us reduce the cost of development dramatically, making it completely affordable for our clients. For Small Business Package Details – see information below.
Job Center is an online CRM Management System that our clients can use to manage their every day business and client tasks. This includes Client Invoices, Data Records, Files and Newsletters just to name a few.
Note: If you have purchased a Small Business Package, you get exclusive use of the Job Center System, the hosting of which must remain with DigitalFront. If you decide to move hosting services, the copy that you have cannot be transferred to another hosting provider unless you purchase a stand alone license (This starts at $3000.00 NZD for 5 users). The install of which must be performed by DigitalFront at the new location. FTP and PHP MyAdmin access will be required. In some cases, cpanel access may also be required to complete the install.
If you decide that you do not want to purchase a stand alone copy of Job Center, we strongly recommend you export your database using the Export Data feature located in most areas of Job Center where data is recorded.
You will be notified at least 2 weeks prior to any renewals due on your account. In most cases, we set reminders to 4 weeks in advance of any renewals. In some cases, and as instructed, we ask that you regularly check your SPAM folders as sometimes our mail ends up there. It is recommended you note the date of the first invoice you receive as this will be the renewal date of your account 2 years from posted invoice date.
If we issue any renewals, and we don’t hear from you, we will endeavor to send a text message to your mobile phone. If you have not registered a mobile phone number with us, we will try and call the phone number supplied. However, it is assumed that if we don’t hear from you on all accounts, that you have decided not to renew your services, and the account itself will simply cease to exist on the cut off date and all services will be terminated from that day forth.
If you are having difficulties with payment, it is always recommended you make contact with your developer to arrange for a time extension. This will be confirmed at the time of application if this is possible.
Our Small Business Package usually consists of:
1 x Logo Design
1 x Business Card Design
1 x DL Brochure Design
1 X Facebook Banner
1 X MS Word Letterhead
1 x WordPress Website
1 x Job Center (see above for conditions of use)
2 Years Hosting

This is just a guideline, and is not written in stone. Some clients have opted to use only certain services listed, and have asked if they could absorb the unused portions into other developmental areas. This is at the discretion of DigitalFront to agree to, and is confirmed at the time of application. This is only considered if it is within the terms and costs of the Small Business Package.
Note: Job Center included in this package is for exclusive use only and cannot be transferred to another hosting service. A stand alone license must be purchased outright if you are considering moving to a new hosting provider.
None of web service offerings in this package apply to WIX clients as WIX does not offer a stand alone hosting server services.
