Lorraine Timms, a tribe memeber of Te Parawhau, located in the North of the North Island approached us as she had been told we could possibly help her with coming up with a tohu to represent her Hapu and Rohe.
I had a 5 minute conversation on the phone, with Lorraine, and I already had the concept of her tohu swirling in my
head. With the help of her base information, and also a few words from her Tupuna, Aunty P; I promised I would have their tohu back to them within 24 hours as I needed to act upon what I was seeing in my head in that moment.
It turned out beautifully, and represents every element of their tribe and their origins and mana. It's one piece I was so honored to have worked on for Te Parawhau and also a custom font to compliment their Tohu.
